Roger McKay Memorial
Health and Genetics Fund

USASF's Health and Genetics Fund was named in memory of Roger McKay, a devoted Aussie fancier and past officer of USASA.

The purpose of this fund is to collect financial donations for the exclusive use to fund grants for genetic research and related health projects.
Periodically, the Foundation will announce a "Challenge Fund" to channel interest toward research of particular importance to Australian Shepherds. Our current "Challenge" is our Cancer Challenge Fund. Any donations to a challenge fund will always be held until a specific grant for that purpose is approved.

How do we decide on what type of research project to grant?
In collaboration with the USASA Health and Genetics Committee and under the advisement of the AKC Canine Health Foundation, the USASF will grant money to a researcher or project that is deemed promising and will hopefully make a positive impact on the future health and well being of Australian Shepherds.
Through the AKC CHF, our Donor Advised Fund (DAF) will receive matching funds.
